Christmas greetings (and new snow) from Julie in Colorado.

We got an early Christmas present here in Aspen/Glenwood Springs today!  Aspen won the big dump with 15 inches of powder.  It is about time!  However, Christmas is also in the air so I made cookies today instead of skiing…what?????

At least they are all frosted, have icing, powdered sugar to look like snow…ok you get the picture.

We always look forward to the snow falling on the lighted trees, walking down the festive snow covered town streets and seeing the glittering icicles with rainbow colors from the Christmas Lights.  We are so lucky to live in Colorado.  Pack your bags and come visit!  Aspen will be the place this year for Christmas as all of my family will be in town and believe it or not, they are not coming just to see me.  There is some great skiing to be done so of course Christmas day will be up on Aspen Highlands.

There are some drawbacks to living in Colorado too though, like when you HAVE to go to Steamboat or Breckenridge to watch one of your kids play high school sports.  It is just a bummer that I DO NOT HAVE enough time to ski too.  2 games this week and both in fabulous ski towns!   I know I will have time to soak in the Steamboat Hot Springs though with all 10 teenage girls I bring with me for a surprise party for my daughter.  Yeah…we’ll just drive to Steamboat for the night.  Why not?  Lots of fun to be had in our Colorado towns even if we do not get to ski! There is lots of time yet for that as I know we are going to get the big snow this season.  I just know it!    Steamboat….I’LL BE BACK as Arnold would say!
I wish everyone Merry Christmas and I hope you eat lots of homemade cookies!
