Why You Want Jasper Ski Packages
Imagine standing at the top of a mountain in the Canadian Rockies, with the sun making
the fluffy, fresh powder glisten and the air is crisp and cold so when you exhale you can see
your breath crystalize right before your eyes. Picture a beautifully rugged landscape, seemingly
untouched by man, and a green and white horizon that seems to go on forever. Below you is an
almost six kilometer trail to the bottom of the mountain. You take one more deep breath and
shove off, your skis floating on top of the snow as you aggressively navigate the trail down. This
experience, and more, can be yours with one of our Jasper ski packages.
Jasper and Marmot Basin are located in Alberta, Canada in the Jasper National Park.
The park is eleven-thousand square kilometers, 97% of which is protected wilderness which
means that when you visit you can have the opportunity to experience more than just skiing or
snowboarding. This stunning park is not only one of Canada’s biggest national parks but it is
also one of the oldest, dating back to 1907. There are thousands of miles of trails that you can
go cross country skiing on to really take in some of the majesty of the mountains and canyons.
Maligne Canyon is considered one of Jasper’s hidden gems and harbors stunning frozen
wonders. The best way to see the magic of winter in the canyon it’s best to hire a guide because
it can be treacherous. Purchasing one of the Jasper ski packages truly opens up a wonderful
winter world for you and the whole family.
But what about the mountain? Marmot Basin has just under seventeen hundred acres of
terrain and boasts Canada’s highest base elevation. The longest ski run is just under six
kilometers, but no worries, because this mountain has eighty-six runs to choose from; 30% are
novice, 30% are intermediate, 20% are advanced, and the final 20% are expert so regardless of
your experience level you will have some fantastic runs to choose from. The runs themselves
are full of variety and flaunt pristine groomed runs as well as chutes, alpine bowls, trees, and
bumps. There are two available terrain parks, one featuring jibs, jumps, boxes, and rails and the
other mainly features rails and boxes, so whatever your terrain park skills are, they have you
covered there too. This mountain offers up to six months of skiing and snowboarding because
they receive over four-hundred centimeters of snow annually, giving you a fantastic window of
opportunity to book one of the Jasper ski packages. But make sure you are prepared for the
frigid weather, and if you are a more aggressive athlete and like to do back country, be fully
equipped for anything the mountain could potentially throw at you. There are seven lifts on the
mountain and three lodges, one at the base and two mid-mountain. They even have a daycare
facility for the little ones while you enjoy shredding. You can’t go wrong!
All in all, Jasper needs to be on your bucket list. It’s considered one of the best kept
secrets in the Canadian Rockies. Who wouldn’t want to go to a giant national park and
experience the wonder that nature provides us? Jasper offers something for everyone in the
family and definitely will not disappoint. But don’t forget, the best way to get these amazing
memories is by booking one of the Jasper ski packages to get the biggest bang for your buck.
When you visit Jasper you will be wowed by the friendly people, the breathtaking scenery, and
the challenge of their ski runs. It will truly be an experience you will never forget.
